What should a community do with its unused land? Plant food, of course. With energy and humor, Pam Warhurst told the TED Salon the story of how she and a growing team of volunteers came together to turn plots of unused land into communal vegetable gardens, and to change the narrative of food in their community. Todmorden has since become an example to hundreds of towns villages and communities across the world, including West Cork. In Skibbereen there are edible beds in estates, cafes, schools, verges and businesses around the town.
Come to hear Pam first hand as keynote speaker at our Incredible Edible talk as part of an afternoon of garden related fun and relaxation. As well as Pam, you can hear Kirsty Smith of Dunmanway Community Garden, and Brian Granahan of St Patrick’s School Skibbereen– two stunning and partly edible gardens recently joining the West Cork Garden Trail.
