About Templebreedy Gardens

Templebreedy Gardens was given a wonderful canvas set beneath the imposing Templebreedy Church, surrounding The Old Rectory (1814),
extending to the ‘Cruchán’ woods and overlooking Cork Harbour and Crosshaven.

It features a variety of garden rooms which include woodland areas, a formal box garden, small walled garden crammed full of herbaceous
perennials, and much more. This old-world setting features many surprises and multiple windows with varying plant combinations,
herbaceous plants, shrubs, grasses and trees.

A wonderful mix of naturalistic and formal garden offering the owners and visitors a bit of heaven on earth. A must see for a plant enthusiast with lots of time for a slow appreciative walk.

The gardens were featured in the SKY programme “Show me your Garden” in 2015 which presented English, Irish & Scottish private gardens; and in Shirley Lanigan’s “Open Gardens of Ireland” in 2017.

The Old Rectory and gardens are listed in the Irish National Inventory of Architectural Heritage.
